Real estate builders now use social media to preserve their reputation. Their reputation is tainted by hostile home buyers who express their negative comments.
Real estate builders expect to shield their reputation by appointing online reputation managers. Many real estate companies have hurriedly appointed online reputation managers.
The proposed home buyers are fed up with the undesirable delay of their homes. Some of them have not received their homes even after two years after the offered delivery- date. They express their severe disgust through social media like Facebook and Twitter.
Liases Foras – report predicts that the delivery will be further delayed. As per the Real estate research firm’s report only half of the projects will be delivered in 2013. The rest of the projects are to be delivered only by 2015.
This delay has in fact provoked the home buyers who started commenting badly about their annoying experience with the real estate builders. Most of them comment on social media like Facebook and Twitter.
Real estate builders who have delayed projects at hand are appointing external online agencies or managers to shield their reputation. Real estate firms like Unitech, Puravankara, Supertech, Lodha, etc. have reputation managers now. Tata Housing’s contract with Social Wavelength was one such recent instance.
Tata Housing’s marketing service- head Mr. Rajeeb Kumar Dash claimed that the group uses social media only to clear people of as how and why projects are delayed. He opined that negative comments are resulted from improper or faulty communications.
Puravankara Projects COO Mr. Jack Bastian Nazareth views online reputation management system as means to build quality customer relationship. He was of the opinions that the group can preserve its fame by setting customer’s expectations right. However real estate builders use online reputation management systems to sort out the issues existing with the home buyers.
Joint CEO at Social wavelength, Hareesh Tibrewala said that real estate developers can inject a positive attitude in the homebuyers through social online media. He said that most of the people wish to be heard and responded. Their feeling of being heard and responded makes them silent and content to greater extents.
Mumbai-based real estate developers Lodha group uses online reputation management system to get feedback from their clients. It enables them to realize their problems and grieves as well. However, online reputation management system enables real estate developers to deal with the clients at individual levels.
